Allocation of Houses – Applying for a Council Home

Tralee Town Council has 1,166 houses in the Tralee Town area and a housing waiting list of 1,807 (as of April 2010).  Houses are allocated based on need and rents are charged based on income, household size and special circumstances. To be considered for social housing you must be in need of housing where houses are allocated in accordance with Tralee Town Council’s Scheme of Letting Priorities.

To apply for a council home, you must first apply to go on the ‘Housing List’ by filling in a ‘Housing Application Form’ and returning it to us at the Housing office in the Town Hall, Princes Quay, Tralee. Once fully completed, your application will be assessed and you will be contacted by a Housing Investigating Officer to arrange an appointment for a housing assessment where the Housing Investigating Officer will determine if you have a housing need.

If you qualify as having a housing need in Tralee you will be placed on Tralee Town Council’s Housing Waiting List.
